Yours Ever, V: A New British Musical

Yours Ever, V
is a new musical based on the real love letters between Vita Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf with book, music and lyrics by Hannah Ost. With quick, witty lyrics adapted from letters, diaries and novels, and musical influences from 1920s British jazz and modern musical theatre, the show sounds like a fusion of Chicago, Hamilton and 42nd Street.

The show has been in the works since 2020 and is now in the early developmental stage with Rennie and White Productions. Read the plot summary below:

Plot Summary

Vita Sackville-West is a writer who can't write. Ever since her aristocrat mother tore apart her last relationship with the now exiled, Violet Trefusis, she has been searching for something to reignite her fire for life. The night of a masquerade ball in Bloomsbury, she may just have found it in up-and-coming novelist, Virginia Woolf. In a world of social customs and rules that must be obeyed (or else), who is the true version of ourselves? Who are we under the face we present to others? And how can that translate into the written word? Based on the real love affair between Vita and Virginia, Yours Ever, V is a story of love, loss and lesbianism, asking 'How does one write something true?'
